WORLD TRADE CLUB WINE BAR

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project studied repositioning an existing 1970's era San Francisco restaurant as a new public destination. Adjacent to the wildly successful Ferry Building, the original fortress-like structure has long been seen as impediment to community access to the Bay, in direct conflict with the policies of SF Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC). The proposal design reenvisions the existing structure clad in a crystalline skin - allowing wide views through the building to the waterfront. New gardens surrounding the restaurant reclaim a disused concrete wasteland, and welcome the public to the facility and the Bay beyond.
