DE+ has been working with Intermodal Structures since 2015, helping IMS to develop a unique prefabricated modular building system. Based on the dimensions of a standard shipping container, but entirely custom constructed, the system is based on a steel moment frame infilled with durable metal panels, windows and doors. Mechanical, lighting and fire protection systems are incorporated into a modular ceiling assembly.

The iMod units can be ordered with a large variety of exterior and interior variation, and can be custom-configured to the varying needs of different uses. The system is truly plug-and-play, allowing modules to be joined and erected on a site in a matter of hours. Primarily intended for application for the California school system, DE+ has configured iMods for office and housing applications as well.
